Topic: Learn how the Galt Museum can help you create meaningful opportunities for your students to engage with Alberta’s past and help us identify future areas to further support teachers Summary: With access to historians, archivists, and primary sources the Galt is ideally situated to help teachers create meaningful opportunities for their students to engage with the past. This session will explore the resources currently available at the Galt and how teachers can access them. We will also explore the challenges teachers face when incorporating primary sources and regional history into their classes and discuss how future programing and development at the Galt provide support. We are particularly interested in exploring how the Galt can help teachers to incorporate Indigenous knowledge and history into their lessons.
